Eight months as of yesterday. Eight months.

I still have a year left on my contract, so I hope to God I play better next season and the management sees a reason to continue to keep me. I know I was a huge reason why we struggled more than we should have this year but it wasn't like it was a secret why. The past eight months have been utter hell and the fact that I was able to pick up the pieces and even play in those first few matches back was a miracle.

It's just- it's been really difficult to get back to "normal" when there is a huge part of me missing.

Jason was really sweet to ask me to go with him to the gala this weekend so I wouldn't have to go alone and face all those happy couples everywhere I look. I still don't think I'll last long, but I'll put on a brave face and make the rounds, I suppose.

Good match on Sunday, everyone. Closest match we've played against the Bats in awhile, I think. Shan, I hope you were sufficiently entertained.

I think we've had a decent season all around other than my self-destruction and Adam's stumbles after Fabian died, and there is certainly no shame in being in the middle of the pack. I'm okay with that, and it only gives us more motivation for next season.

It's hard to believe this season is over, but with the World Cup on the horizon, it's nice to know I won't have to take a break just yet.

That said, however, I think I am going to take it easy between now and Saturday. I'll see everyone then.
